Whether you have just started designing or have a floor plan together, Building Integrity is ready to help you or your architect turn your design into a panel-ready project.

We work for you!

First, we identify the walls that are best suited for straw panels, sometimes called S-SIPs (Straw Structural Insulated Panels). Exterior walls, and walls separating conditioned from unconditioned spaces, are, of course, the most useful places for super insulated straw panels. Sometimes there can be applications for interior straw walls (i.e. for sound insulation). Straw panels can be used in additions, and potentially renovations, but special considerations for air barrier continuity and access for panel installation must be taken into account.

Building Integrity is ready to help you turn your design into a panel-ready project.

In addition to advising on the location of straw panel walls, Building Integrity can also consult on high-performance considerations for the entire building. Straw SIPs need to be detailed within an overall building strategy for airtight, but vapor-open, design. Building Integrity co-owner and Missouri Registered Architect, Adrienne Stolwyk, along with her team at Monarch Architecture, can be engaged to simply consult on a straw panel project, or execute design and drawing work to whatever level of details is required.

There are many architectural considerations (building volume, shape, wall detailing, material selection) to be coordinated so that S-SIPs can be part of a comprehensive plan for a resilient and high performing structure. Additionally, Adrienne and Monarch can coordinate with structural engineers licensed in your state and HVAC design engineers or other professionals, so that the panels are seamlessly included in the overall design and engineering approach.

Once all essential design details (i.e. wall height, length, interior & exterior finishes, rough openings, wall penetrations, and structural considerations) have been incorporated into a drawing set, Building Integrity will proceed with producing and engineering shop drawings for each straw panel. Then, panels can be fabricated in our shop and shipped to your site!
